An explosive device suspected to be a bomb has been discovered inside the premises of First Bank in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The device was detected by security operatives attached to the bank on Tuesday who immediately informed management of the bank.
The development which almost paralyzed commercial activities in the state led to the untimely closure of most of the banks in the town.
Vanguard reported that Police and officers attached to the anti bomb squad of the state Police command were later drafted to the bank to ensure safety of lives of people at the bank after shutting down operations.
Mr Ibrahim Maishanu, State Police Commissioner confirmed the report, adding that the bomb detectors from the state Police Command claimed the object detected was an improvised explosive device.
