A Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senators on Tuesday fired Senator Muhammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District of Borno State as leader of the Senate.
This is contained in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.
The letter, which was read on the floor of the chamber during the plenary on Tuesday, announced Senator Ahmed Lawan as its new leader.

However, Ali Ndume has rejected his removal as Senate Majority leader by the APC senate caucus.
“I still remain Senate Leader, ” Ndume claimed during a press briefing with National Assembly correspondents on Tuesday.
He added that he was not aware of his removal by the APC Senate Caucus because he had no knowledge of when the decision to remove him was taken.
