As the 2019 general elections gathers momentum, The District Superintendent of West and Central Africa District, of Apostolic Faith Church, Rev. Emmanuel Adeniran has advised Nigerians to eschew religious sentiments in voting for leaders, saying credibility and integrity should guide their choice in the 2019 general elections.
Rev. Adeniran made the call while addressing journalists on the church forthcoming national Annual Convention scheduled for Sunday, 5th August through 26 at the church camp ground in Faith-City, Igbesa, Ogun State with the theme: “A life without blemish.”
The cleric said electorate should not allow themselves to be coerced to vote the wrong people but instead vote for only people who will contribute positively to the growth and development of the country. He stressed that peace and socio-economic development of the country should guide Nigerians in electing leaders of proven integrity and unquestionable character.
In his words: “Do not vote for a Christian or Muslim who is a thief, vote for someone who have good ethical orientation, we should not hide under the sentiment of religion, if you vote for a Christian that is embezzling the purse, you are killing the country.
People hide under the canopy of religion, vote for somebody with good ethical orientation.”
