IPPIS: ASUU describes Nigerian govt as lawless, autocratic
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has lashed out at the Nigerian leadership, describing the government as lawless and autocratic.
The Union says “there is clear evidence that it’s winning the struggle against the gvernment,” adding that it has received reports of overwhelming compliance with her members nationwide not to enroll in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, (IPPIS).
The Chairman, University of Ibadan chapter of the union, Prof. Deji Omole, in a release thanked members for standing on a principle to salvage public education and secure the future of Nigeria.
The ASUU boss said, “Nigeria’s problems is not about payroll but the failure of leadership at state and national levels.
“Our refusal to enroll on the IPPIS is to protect the rule of law, the sanctity of the university system and to ensure the protection of public education system.”
