A former Minister of Aviation and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has told the Federal Government to allow all Nigerians to carry fire arms, if the government could make case for Fulani herdsmen to be licensed to carry AK-47 rifles to protect themselves and their cows.

According to him, if such licence is ever considered, it would make it automatically expedient for other local residents to also enjoy the same privilege of bearing arms to also protect themselves against suspect killers, bandits and rampaging herdsmen.

He said the best way to go about resolving the security challenges in the country would be for the government at all levels to do the needful, by providing security for the people as constitutionally expected so that Nigerians would not to be considering bearing arms.

He spoke today, while paying a solidarity visit to Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho at his Soka, Ibadan residence.
