Ibarapa massacre: War imminent in Nigeria – Gani Adams roars

The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams says with the massacre of over 50 people in Igangan town, Ibarapa, Oke Ogun area of Oyo state, it is evident that war is imminent in the country.

Adams who made the statement on Sunday, while condemning the gruesome murder of innocent residents of the town, warned Fulani herdsmen and bandits to stay away from the southwest or be ready to face stiff resistance.

The killings in the early hours of Sunday brought the entire Igangan town and its environs to its kneels with over 50 people, cars burnt and over 20 houses razed.

Speaking shortly after news of the killings and destruction filtered in, with gory videos of the massacre, Gani Adams said the North had waged war against the southwest and had also unleashed terror on the region, stressing the need for the southwest region to rise and defend themselves without looking back.

“In a situation like this, you rise and defend yourself. Where are the police when the bandits started killing our people in Igangan today? Even the palace of Asigangan of Igangan land,Oba Adewuyi Olaoye, was not spared and the monarch, according to reports had been whisked away by the bandits.”

  1. There won’t be any war anywhere.it is left for those who are saddled with securing us to be alive to their duties.people just talk about war.is it in the mouth they fight war?can any war solve any problem?the one we fought between 1967 and 1970 how did it end,the two sides lost more people at the end, more than the numbers of deaths that sparked the war.to be precise, the Igbo went to war because of the killings in the North, how many people died before the war,how many people died during the war.we will be talking about ratio 1 to 1000.at the end of the war,did Ojukwu who was the war leader not contest to go to Nigerian Senate in 1983? Did he not receive his pensions and gratuity as a Nigerian army officer, was he not buried as an army officer?so,what happened to those Millions of Teenage boys that were killed during the war?
