Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have picked up one Yunusa Amusan over a letter discovered to have been laden with heroin.
Daily Trust reports that the letter which was sent from Bengalore, India, on Express Mail Service (EMS) was addressed to 33-year-old Amusan in Mushin, Lagos.
Upon interception of the letter by the NDLEA, about 480 grammes of a powdery substance that tested positive to heroin was found inside the letter.
According to Daily Trust reports, the thin parcels of heroin were carefully hidden in the letter in a manner that made it difficult to detect.
This subsequently led the NDLEA to arrest Amusan who the letter was addressed to.
The agency said this was the first case of a heroin-laden letter this year.
