A retired Director of the State Security Service in Taraba state, Mr. Hosea Danjuma was kidnapped by unknown gunmen inside his residence at Baisa town, in Kurmi local government area of Taraba state.
Hosea Danjuma, one of the worthy persons within Baisa, was said to be abducted by the gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday at about 1:47 am while the residents were yet to wake from sleep.
A family member, Miss Adama Danjuma, according to Vanguard report, said that the gunmen invaded the family house of Mr. Hosea Danjuma at about 1:47 am in their numbers with sophisticated weapons.
She said the gunmen destroyed the back gate of the house where they gained entrance into the compound, adding that they were very furious and threatened to shoot at anybody who resisted the adoption of Hosea. She also confirmed that the unknown gunmen came with Motor-Cycles which they used to whisk away Hosea Damjuma.
The Care Taker Chairman, Kurmi local government council and chairman, Association of Local Government Of Nigeria (ALGON) Mr. Steven Agya also confirmed to that his kinsman, Mr Hosea Danjuma was kidnaped by unknown gunmen in the early hours of today (Tuesday) been 1st of March.
Agya said he has reported the matter to the police. The police public relation officer PPRO Taraba state police command, ASP Joseph Kwaji, confirmed that Hosea Danjuma was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Baisa, adding that a special squared has been deployed by the command to rescue the former SSS Director.
The PPRO further said that although all efforts had been put in place to rescue Mr. Danjuma unhurt, no contact has been established with the adaptors yet.
It will be recalled that the adoption of Mr. Hosea Danjuma occurred two weeks after the mother of the deputy governor of Taraba state was kidnapped for hours before she was released to the family. The kidnap of the mother of the Deputy Governor was just one among many other kidnapping activities happening in Taraba state particularly in the Southern and Central parts of the state.
