Dele Momodu has warned the African Democratic Congress to enforce discipline early and avoid a Wike style takeover, saying internal aggression and forced ticket coronation could destroy the opposition coalition before 2027.

Do Not Let ADC Become PDP 2.0 – Dele Momodu Warns

Nigeria’s opposition coalition is already showing cracks, and veteran journalist and politician Dele Momodu is not keeping quiet. In a blunt intervention, he warned that the African Democratic Congress risks repeating the same mistake that crippled the PDP, allowing one faction to hijack the party and hold it hostage.

How ADC Was Born as an Anti APC Weapon

Momodu revealed that he was present in Abuja when leaders and members of opposition parties agreed to adopt the African Democratic Congress as a common platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress.

According to him, participation was voluntary, and the founders promised an open party guided by democracy, discipline, and internal order, unlike what destroyed other opposition platforms.

Promises Made Discipline Assured

At the gathering, assurances were given that ADC would not tolerate chaos or indiscipline. Momodu said he was particularly encouraged by the emergence of David Mark as party chairman, believing the retired general would not allow disorder to take root.

He described the early vision of ADC as one built on cooperation, persuasion, and internal democracy.

Aggression Creeps In Before the Race Begins

Momodu warned that troubling signs have already emerged. He accused some groups within the coalition of introducing aggression, tantrums, and verbal attacks into what should be a collaborative process.

He questioned how a national coalition could survive if certain blocs insist on producing the top ticket through donation or coronation rather than open contest and consensus.

One Group Cannot Win Nigeria Alone

In his warning, Momodu stressed that no faction can win a national election without the others. He said unleashing expletives and threats against partners only weakens the coalition and hands advantage to political opponents.

According to him, unity, persuasion, and internal respect are the only paths to victory.

The Wike Warning That Shook PDP

Momodu drew a direct comparison with the crisis that consumed the Peoples Democratic Party. He said this was exactly how Nyesom Wike held the PDP by the jugular until it became impossible to discipline or remove him.

He warned that ADC risks walking the same path if firm action is not taken now.

ADC Must Enforce Discipline or Collapse

The message was clear. Momodu said ADC must rise quickly and enforce discipline before it is too late. Allowing unchecked ambition and internal intimidation, he warned, will destroy trust and fracture the coalition.

He insisted that rules must apply equally to all tendencies within the party.

Party of Love or Fuji House of Commotion

Momodu concluded with a sharp metaphor, warning that ADC must decide whether it wants to be a party of love or descend into a Fuji house of commotion.

With 2027 approaching, his intervention adds fresh tension to an opposition movement still struggling to balance ambition, unity, and control.
