Fidelity Bank Plc has once again demonstrated its leadership in the export sector by clinching the prestigious Export Finance Bank of the Year award at the 2023 BusinessDay and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards.
The award was presented during a prestigious dinner event held at the Lagos Continental Hotel in Victoria Island on October 28, 2023.
The BAFI Awards are renowned for recognizing and celebrating financial institutions in Nigeria that excel in delivering financial services.
Fidelity Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, expressed gratitude for the recognition and dedicated the award to the bank’s customers, highlighting their trust in Fidelity Bank for the right support in the global non-oil exports market.
She reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to its mission of enabling individuals, inspiring businesses, and empowering economies.
In a significant development, Fidelity Bank recently hosted the Fidelity International Trade and Creative Connect (FITCC) expo in Houston, Texas.
At this event, the bank inked a $40 million cocoa pre-export deal with AFREXIM Bank and JohnVents Industries, a deal that has received acclaim within the export industry.
FITCC Houston also featured more than 160 exhibitions from Nigerian and US-based businesses, alongside engaging panel sessions, as stakeholders explored strategies to boost Nigerian business exports to the US market.
In recognition of Fidelity Bank’s role in fostering bilateral trade and economic development between Nigeria and the USA through its FITCC initiative, the Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, declared October 25, 2023, as FITCC Day in Houston, Texas.
