The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to cancel results of the presidential elections for Lagos State just as it accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of manipulating the exercise, Vanguard reports.

Addressing a press conference at its party secretariat, the state chairman of the party, Mr Tunji Shelle accused INEC officials of collaborating with the APC to manipulate outcome of the elections, saying it affected the chances of the party.

He, however, alleged that figures were “brazenly manufactured and conjured to favour the APC.”

Shelle, who rejected the outcome of the exercise, said “we hereby reject outright all the established manipulated results and the concocted victory given in favour of APC in Lagos State. We demand immediate justice and the prompt cancellation of all concocted APC kangaroo victory and the immediate restoration of all genuine and untarnished results from the various polling units as nothing else will do.”

“We are protesting in the strongest terms the deliberate and unconscionable complicity of INEC officials with the APC in Lagos State to thwart and reverse the popular will of the people of Lagos State in the presidential and parliamentary elections.”

The party chairman alleged that INEC officials were compromised especially in the distribution and allocation of the Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs.

According to him, the distribution of PVCs was “skewed in favour of the stronghold of the APC in Lagos and beyond to the detriment of PDP. Non-indigenes in Lagos were openly disenfranchised and denied the right to collect their PVCs, hence majority were unable to vote.”

He also lamented that “virtually everywhere we won a clear and verifiable victory, presiding INEC officials openly colluded with the APC to sabotage and deny PDP candidates victory. Among the local government areas where anomalies were recorded are Badagry, Epe, Eti-Osa and Apapa.”
