Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State has denied reports that many of its members, including elected representatives, have left the party in droves to the All Progressive Congress, according to Punch.

Earlier today some online newspaper report, (not SKYTREND), had said many prominent members of the party in the state, including former Governor Joshua Dariye, who is also a serving senator and re-elected to represent Plateau Central; Senator-elect for Plateau South, Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni(retd.); former Deputy Governor Jethro Akun; Senator Victor Lar and a host of others have dumped the party for APC.

However the PDP Organising Secretary, Mike Dachom, for Plateau state said on Wednesday, that all the people mentioned were still members of the party, who still owed total and unalloyed allegiance to it.

He described the report as the work of propagandists, who were cashing in on the victory of APC in the presidential election.

Dachom said contrary to insinuations, the foundation of PDP was laid on the Plateau and the average Plateau man would rather stick to PDP than look elsewhere, adding that the victory of Maj. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari(retd.) had not changed anything.

“I have not heard of any of these people you have mentioned leaving the party. The only report I had was that of a former Labour Party candidate, Mr. Bagudu Hirse, who said he was joining APC. Apart from that, Plateau PDP is intact and ready for Saturday’s election.

"The party was going into the next round of election with much determination, knowing that as it had lost at the centre, it could not afford to lose in the state.
