The Sahara Group, through its subsidiary, Sahara Group Foundation, has reiterated its dedication by contributing state-of-the-art medical equipment to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Edo State.
The company made this announcement in an official statement, emphasizing its ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure.
This donation is part of Sahara Group’s initiative to provide medical equipment, facilitated by Sahara Group Foundation, to support response operations at the ThisDay Dome Covid-19 Isolation and Treatment Centre in FCT- Abuja.
The center, with 360 beds, serves as a model for other isolation facilities in Nigeria.
According to the group’s statement, the Sahara Group Foundation has devised a strategy to distribute medical equipment to healthcare institutions nationwide, aiming to bolster healthcare accessibility and the availability of cutting-edge equipment in tertiary health facilities.
In collaboration with Asharami Energy, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital was selected as one of the beneficiaries of these medical supplies.
The donated equipment includes a dialysis machine, automatic dialysis chair, suction units, monitors, oxygen tanks, medical beds, manual ICU beds, and drip stands, among other essential items.
The official handover ceremony took place at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital on Monday, November 6, 2023, marking a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in the region.
