Skales, the Nigerian singer, has refuted a viral report claiming he divorced his wife Precious after she allegedly mocked his music career on social media.
The report originated from an X user Verity_Hq who claimed that the singer spoke about his failed marriage during an interview on WithChude podcast.
“I divorced my wife because of a comment she made on my post and I don’t regret it – Singer, Skales revealed, saying “When my wife made the comment on my post, I got angry. People cannot be mocking your husband’s music career, the music that is paying for your bills and you join them to mock him” the post reads.
“She should’ve defended me or better still stayed quiet. I wasn’t totally wrong for divorcing her because a woman who doesn’t support your hustle isn’t a good wife.
“I wanna build a family but not just with any woman. Right now, I’m not married.”
Reacting via a post on X, Skales described the report as “false and lies”. He also criticised the user for spreading “misinformation”.
“This is really evil of you that you would cook up such a story. This is not fair,” the post read.
“I have never made such a statement and this is false. Please stop spreading lies.”
