JUST IN: Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode, Sanwo-Olu, Meet At APC Abuja Convention
Delegates to the national convention of the All Progressives Congress were still making their way into the Eagle Square, Abuja, venue of the event as at 9:45 pm.
The event which was earlier slated to begin at 12: 00 noon was later shifted to 6pm before it was later moved to 9pm.
Delegates and guests started arriving at the venue at 8:00 pm while several cultural groups were on hand to entertain guests.
About 7,000 delates are expected to attend the event in which President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to be formally presented as the APC presidential candidate for the 2019 elections.
TheCable reports that it was a sight to behold as Babatunde Fashola, former governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, the incumbent governor, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, and Tunde Balogun, current APC Chairman in the state sat side by side at the ruling party’s national convention in Abuja.
Ambode and Sanwo-Olu walked into the Eagle Square, venue of the convention, together.
Both men weren’t on the same page in the buildup to the primary but Ambode has since accepted defeat and congratulated the flagbearer of the party in 2019.
