WASSA's Pig Production Workshop Holds November 30 In Lagos

Women In Agricultural Advancement And Sustainability Africa (WAASA), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), with headquarters in Nigeria holds its monthly agric empowerment seminar in Lagos on November 30th. This month training which is focused on pig production has been slated to hold at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. According to Chioma Tolani Roberts-Agbaje, WASSA Executive Director, one of the objectives of the training is to empower participants in current pig production practices, challenges, opportunities, and regulations which are shaping the industry. Chi Tola added that, “Participants will have a general knowledge of the day to day activities occurring in the various phases of the pork production chain, including but not limited to boar studs, breeding farms, nurseries, finishers, and wean-to-finish farms.” WAASA was set up to empower Nigerians with passion in subsistence and commercial agricultural activities with the aim of turning their passion into self sustaining Agribusiness. WAASA which tagged its initiative “From Farms to Brands” held its inaugural training in October with focus on Mushroom and Snail Farming. Industry stakeholders and many attendees across the nation graced the seminar. This month’s workshop according to the organisers will assist in the development and advancement of knowledge of individuals without extensive experience in modern, dynamic large scale commercial pig production process.
