The campaign secretariat of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai was attacked on Thursday night by suspected armed thugs.

Spokesman of El-Rufai, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Friday in Kaduna that the attack on the office located along Isa Kaita Road, Ungwar Sarki, Kaduna, was carried out at 10:00pm on Thursday.
He said the hoodlums who were in their hundreds were armed with sticks, machetes, knives and other dangerous weapons.
The statement said over 12 people were seriously injured as the thugs forced their way into the office premises, adding that the prompt intervention of the police saved the situation. According to the statement, those who were injured in the attack, were rushed to Garkuwa Specialist Hospital, Kaduna for treatment.
