Bayern Munich have confirmed a deal to sign Arturo Vidal from Juventus.

Juve's general director Giuseppe Marotta this week revealed Vidal had asked to leave the club after four straight title-winning seasons.

And the Chile captain will now return to the Bundesliga provided he passes a medical.

Bayern chief executive Karl Heinz Rummenigge said: "I can confirm that we have reached an agreement with both parties, Juventus and the player.

"What is missing is the medical and the signature of the contract,"

Vidal spent four years in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen before leaving for Turin, where he won five major trophies and helped Juve reach this year's Champions League final.

The 28-year-old was named man of the match as Chile beat Argentina on penalties to win this summer's Copa America.
