BREAKING: Buhari Sends Packing EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Lamorde

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Nigeria, Mr Ibrahim Lamorde, has been removed, a presidential source said.
 
Mr Lamorde was removed on Monday by President, Muhammadu Buhari.
 
He was seen at the Presidential Villa, where he allegedly held a last meeting with the President.
 
No reason has been given for his sack.
 
There are also indications that he may have been replaced, but his successor has not been named.
 
it was however gathered that a senior official of the commission had been asked to take over in an acting capacity.
 
Mr Lamorde took over as the chairman of the anti-graft agency on 23 November, 2011 after chairman Farida Waziri was dismissed by the former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
 
The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been removed from offfice.
 
No official statement has been released on his removal.
