EFCC: Chukkol Takes Over From Bawa

Yesterday after the EFCC chairman was removed from office

The Director of Ops was asked to take over

Punch newspaper probably googled Director of Operations EFCC

And Mohammed Abba Umar turned up

So they carried the news that the man was now the acting chairman

But Mohammed Umar was DOP under Magu

He acted as chairman when Magu was removed till Bawa was appointed

And after that he was redeployed to the police in Kano

He is now the DCP SCID Kano

The current DOP EFCC is Mr Chukkol

Punch didn’t make a small mistake. They actually published the biography of Mohammed Umar.

But if they had read the biography they published they would have known that Umar couldn’t still be DOP

Having published a mishmash, other newspapers copied Punch
