Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has concluded his four days official visit to the United States and has left the country for Nigeria.

President Buhari rounded-off the visit on Wednesday after an earlier meeting with representatives of the United States Institute of Peace, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Atlantic Council, National Democratic Institute, International Republican Institute and International Foundation of Electoral System.

In his speech, the President told the gathering that Nigeria’s commitment to good governance, anti-corruption, democracy and security of lives and property remained firm.

He, however, stressed that fixing Nigeria’s problems, as formidable as they are, was the responsibility of Nigerians.

“The international community can only assist, but the hard work belongs to Nigerians and their government.

“I will as President, lead from the front, but all Nigerians, including the opposition parties, civil society, business and religious leaders, public servants, labour unions, the youth and professional associations all have important roles to play to get our country back on a sound economic footing,” president Buhari stated.

On Monday, President Buhari held talks with President Barack Obama on terrorism and further plans to foster greater economic ties between both nations.

He also met with Nigerians in the Diaspora in the United States and assured them that his administration would remain committed to ending the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists in the north east.
