BUSTED: Reports That Atiku Travelled To United States Today Is FALSE Mr. Paul Ibe and Mr. Phrank Shaibu who are media aides of the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday said they were not aware that Atiku had travelled to the United States. Some online media have reported that Atiku has travelled to U.S. But the two aides in separate telephone interviews were quoted by Punch Daily Trust Newspaper as saying that they were unaware of such and categorically denied the report. Ibe said via a telephone chat Thursday afternoon that online reports which stated that Atiku had travelled to the US were a figment of the imagination of the authors. “You know what the social media can do. You know the social media for what they are now. It is not true. His Excellency hasn’t gone anywhere,” he said. “The information is unknown to me. I am not aware of it.” Shaibu, responding in the same vein, said, “I do not know.” An online medium had reported that Atiku was expected to arrive in Washington, DC on Thursday. It added that the former vice-president had been scheduled to speak at the Chamber of Commerce on Friday, from 2:30pm to 4pm local time, although it stated that it could not confirm the event. According to the medium, the private round table event, to be hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce and the US Africa Business Centre, is reportedly going to hold at 1615 H street, NW 20062.
