Dana Air has refuted social media allegations that one of its aircraft experienced an engine explosion just before takeoff from Lagos on Wednesday.
The assertion was made by a user on X, formerly Twitter, known as King David Hybrid.
In response, Dana Air issued a statement, describing the post as attention-seeking and unfounded.
The airline clarified that the aircraft encountered “some operational challenges and non-scheduled maintenance,” emphasizing that it did not involve an engine explosion.
“While passengers on the affected flights have been provided options and issues resolved, we are still wondering where this Twitter user got his fake news from,” Dana Air stated.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of staff and customers, urging the public to disregard the circulated report on social media.
