FG partners with Wema bank to launch digital skills program for MSMEs

The Federal Government, in collaboration with Wema Bank, has introduced a digital skills program for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and is inviting eligible Nigerians to apply for this initiative.

Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs in the Office of the Vice President, announced this development in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Adekunle-Johnson stated that applications for the FGN X ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme are open to a wide range of individuals, including tech enthusiasts, aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, job seekers, working professionals, and visionary future leaders.

Interested and eligible Nigerians can visit https://fg-skillnovation.alat.ng to apply for the program.

He mentioned that the portal is available for applications starting from Monday, and applicants should be Nigerian citizens residing in the country.

Applicants should fall within the age range of 18 to 35, possess literacy and numeracy skills (with formal education being an advantage but not mandatory), and have access to a digital device such as a smartphone, laptop, or desktop for participation.

Applicants should be willing to commit to the entire program’s duration and have a strong interest in digital skills, entrepreneurship, or technology.

The program offers various benefits, including training, guidance, knowledge sharing, skills development with top-notch mentorship, funding for innovative ideas, support for startups to achieve success, and the opportunity to connect products and expand reach.

Adekunle-Johnson emphasized that the FGN X ALAT Digital Skillnovation program provides access to funding, mentorship, job opportunities, grants, and aims to bring participants’ ideas to life with real market experiences.
