The FONDCUP 1st runner-up is set to unveil the 2nd edition of The Clan quiz competition for Niger Delta students. The event is slated to be held on September 15, 2023.

It would be recalled that the 1st edition of the Clan quiz competition, which was coordinated by Miss Faith Iguodala, who was the 1st Runner-Up of the Face of Niger Delta Cultural Pageant (FONDCUP) 2021/2022, was a huge success.

In a statement extracted from https://theclanquiz.fondcup.ng/2023/05/08/the-clan-quiz-competition-second-edition-begins/, “This year, Miss Ibitoru Ibelema who is now the 1st Runner-Up of FONDCUP, is set to make the second edition an even bigger success.

The statement which further revealed that the 2nd edition of the quiz competition would see lots of exciting prizes to be won explained that the first place winner would be given the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250,000), the second place winner will be given One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150,000), and the third place winner will be given a Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000).

According to the organizers, “The Clan quiz competition is an initiative of Ethel Women Initiative through the office of the Face of Niger Delta Cultural Pageant (FONDCUP) Queen, to create awareness and educate the Niger Delta-born younger generation on the values, history, culture, and tradition of the Niger Delta people, that is gradually going into extinction, through a quiz competition.

“The quiz competition is held among secondary school students who are Niger Delta born all over the country and in the Diaspora from Junior Secondary School three (JSS3) to Senior Secondary School three (SSS3) respectively”.

While stating that registration for the second edition of the Clan quiz competition had commenced on Monday, May 8, 2023, and would end on August 15, 2023, the statement revealed that registration is completely free, and it is done online through the Clan quiz website (www.theclanquiz.fondcup.ng).

Furthermore, the statement which explained that after registration, students would be provided access to download quiz competition study material, after participating in a short quiz on the website, which is a form of screening to test their IQ before qualifying for the competition, added that “Shortlisted students who passed the quiz are advised to study the material provided ahead of the quiz in order to do very well in the quiz competition.

“The competition is going to be held both physically and virtually. There would be centres in some states for the quiz, students who cannot make it to the quiz centre in their state due to distance or who do not have centres in their state can participate in the quiz competition virtually from their locations. This is to ensure that every student is given an equal opportunity and fair chance to participate.

The organizers said the project is targeted at secondary school students from junior secondary school three (JSS 3) to senior secondary school three (SSS 3) in both public and private schools from the Niger Delta region.

“The Niger Delta region comprises nine states, namely; Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo, and Rivers respectively.

“Only students from any of these states in JSS 3 – SSS 3 are eligible to participate in the competition. Eligible candidates are encouraged to register for the competition” the statement added.
