Just In: Ogun Accord Party Discredits Isiaka’s Adoption, Insists On Tokoya

Prince Gbeyega Nasir Isiaka
ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State chapter of the Accord Party has distanced itself from the purported adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Prince Gbeyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) by a faction of the party.

Asojuoba Michael Adesanya, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, who disclosed this in Abeokuta at a press conference, said the Accord Party in the state would stick to Sir Tope Tokoya as its gubernatorial candidate.

Adesanya said that those who were involved in the adoption of the ADC governorship candidate, were no longer Accord Party members.

He said: “There has never been any question that Pastor (Sir) Tope Tokoya is the elected gubernatorial candidate of Accord, and indeed this has been confirmed by INEC.

“We are in possession of various documents that confirm the anti-party activities of a five-man group led by the State Chairman, Elder Isiaka Amusa, whose imaginary candidate lost out in the party primaries of our great part.

“Those presently involved in anti-party activities, and parading themselves as leaders of our party are no longer members of Accord, Ogun State, as some have resigned their membership of Accord, some are suspended, while someone in particular is a wife of a candidate in another political party. In fact, one of the anti-party group has been dismissed by his ward in Sagamu local government area.”
