NASENI inks $200m procurement agreement with REA

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has entered into a procurement agreement worth $200 million with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

The announcement of this partnership was made by Khalil Suleiman, NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman, during his inaugural televised media interaction at the agency’s headquarters.

Suleiman stressed the significance of the agreement, indicating REA’s commitment to source equipment from NASENI.

He also highlighted NASENI’s ongoing collaborations and the growing interest it has garnered from a variety of stakeholders.

Appointed to his role by President Bola Tinubu, Suleiman outlined his ambitious vision for NASENI, underlining his determination to make the agency’s products and technologies accessible to every household in Nigeria in the near future.

He emphasized NASENI’s dedication to transparency and its determination to meet the high expectations of stakeholders.

Suleiman stated, “Expect some products from NASENI’s research and development efforts in the market during the first quarter of 2024.

We are going to embark on a national rebranding campaign to ensure that NASENI products find their way into every household across the country in the coming years. This is what Nigerians should anticipate.

We will no longer sit idle with endless research and prototypes gathering dust on shelves. Instead, we will introduce them to the market for consumption by Nigerians.

In fact, one of our plans for next year is to establish NASENI Showrooms in key cities throughout the country.”

This move reflects NASENI’s commitment to making its innovative products more accessible and visible to the public.
