Poorlitics: Only Practical Project Based Politics Can Lead Nigeria To Sustaining Success — Senator Bukar

Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial Zone in Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim has said that to be successful in politics, you only need to imbibe the principles of practical, project based and progressive leadership.

Senator Bukar made the assertion on Saturday in Abuja during a meeting with social media influencers drawn from across the six geo-political zone of Nigeria, adding you don’t need to have money, be friends with money bags or any godfather as a pre-requisite before you can made an headway or success in politics.

Bukar who was a former three time governor of Yobe State, showed clearly in his newly launched book, ‘Poorlitics’ how he rose from the ashes of poverty as a little boy born in the little Goniri Village in Yobe State with no money, no godfather no resources and no sponsors and yet he was able to become successful in politics using the “principles of practical, project based, progressive, political leadership.”

Explaining the ideology of ‘poorlitrics’ as contained in the book, Bukar Abba Ibrahim a two times serving senator drew from the examples of other ‘progressive leaders’ from various parts of the country such as Aminu Kano, Nnamdi Zik, Obafemi Awolowo, Akano Ibiam, Tarka, Waziri, etc and how they were able to become successful politicians using the same the same principles of ‘Poorlitics’.

Also explained in the book is how participatory project based politics syncs with the ‘Not Too Young Too Run’ concept and how young people can key into this and get involved into politics even without money,

He also explained in vivid terms how young people who are interested in a political career can successfully apply this same method and win elections today, despite the fact that the country’s present political reality involves affiliation with ‘big money bags’ to win elections.

Senator Buka encouraged the media influencers to discuss the principles contained in the book across their various platform and encourages youths across Nigeria to imbibe the principles which can help their career in politics.

The book which is quite controversial also discusses the nationhood of Nigeria and covers varying areas such as the 1966 Coup and counter coup, the issue of zoning and merit, the Biafran War, why good leadership has eluded the country, the military dictatorship in Nigeria and how we can still attain good leadership.

‘Poorlitics’ is published by Bass Books Ltd, located in United Kingdom and will be available for sale as from October 1st, 2018 in Amazon, across the country and all over the internet.
