President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to participate in the upcoming G-20 Summit set to take place in New Delhi, India, from September 9th to 10th.

This announcement was conveyed by the President’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, during a briefing with State House correspondents.

The primary objective of President Tinubu’s trip to the G-20 Summit is to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Nigeria.

Tinubu’s Agenda at G-20 summit

As part of his agenda, he will convene a roundtable discussion with over 20 Chief Executive Officers from various industries across India’s diverse economic sectors.

Furthermore, President Tinubu is expected to engage in meetings with several Heads of State on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit, including representatives from Germany, India, South Korea, and others.

These interactions will focus on critical sectors of the Nigerian economy, encompassing steel development, electricity generation, transmission, distribution, shipyard construction capacity, and various labor-intensive industries.

The overarching goal is to generate employment opportunities for the country’s burgeoning youth population.

President Tinubu will also meet with the Nigerian community in India and deliver remarks to the entire summit, addressing Heads of State and prominent industry and business leaders from around the world.
