Top PDP Executive Shot Dead By Gunmen In S'South Rivers
A top official of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Mr. Olala Osondu, has been shot dead by suspected assassins.
Osondu, who was the secretary general of the PDP in Ahoada West Local Government Area, was said to have been killed at his residence, off Ada-George Road, in Port Harcourt at about 12.30a.m.
According to Thisday, the deceased was assassinated in front of his compound as he just returned from meeting few minutes after midnight.
A source, who did not want to be mentioned, said the deceased’s wife said she heard two gunshots outside their compound after she had sighted her husband’s car.
According to the source, when the deceased’s wife came outside shortly after the gunshots, she found her husband dead.
The state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, confirmed the incident and said investigations were on to track down the assassins.
