The Presidential Election Petition Court, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, has dismissed the petitions from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) regarding Vice President Kashim Shettima’s qualification.
The court characterized it as a pre-election matter and also ruled that it was statute-barred, signifying that it was submitted after the legal time limit.
The APM had contended that Shettima was ineligible to serve as a running mate due to his nomination as a senatorial candidate by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections.
Justice Haruna Tsammani, the panel’s chairman, delivered the ruling.
