A United Nigeria Airlines flight, originally bound for Abuja, mistakenly landed in Asaba on Saturday, causing confusion among passengers.
The cabin crew announced the wrong destination upon landing, prompting passengers to realize the mistake.
After spending about half an hour on the tarmac, the flight was redirected to Abuja.
The pilot attributed the incident to a mix-up in the flight plan. However, United Nigeria Airlines later defended the diversion, citing poor weather conditions as the reason for the temporary landing in Asaba.
The airline clarified that the pilot was properly briefed about the diversion, and the confusion arose from an incorrect announcement by the cabin crew.
