The embattled former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail by the High Court in Abuja.
The court, presided over by Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court, issued the ruling on Wednesday, setting the bail amount at N300 million.
As part of the bail conditions, Emefiele is required to provide two sureties who must possess certificates of occupancy and titles to properties within the Maitama District.
Additionally, the former CBN governor is mandated to surrender all his travel documents to the court registrar and must confine himself within the Abuja Municipal Council.
Despite the grant of bail, Emefiele will remain in Kuje Prison until he fulfills all the stipulated bail conditions.
