The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has issued a warning to motorists against parking on lay-bys in the Dopemu and Oshodi areas of Lagos State.
The advisory, conveyed in a document signed by Zonal Commander Akeem Adeoshun, emphasizes the importance of using designated bus stops such as Dopemu, Cement, Mongoro, Ajayi Farm, Ikeja, Airport, PWD, Shogunle, Ladipo, and Bolade.
The document specifies prohibited areas for parking, including Pako, Dopemu under the bridge, in front of the tower, National, Olori, Alasia, and Arena.
In addition to the parking guidelines, motorists are reminded of safety measures, including refraining from reversing on the highway, driving on one-way routes and BRT lanes, and avoiding stopping, paying, picking, and dropping at illegal bus stops.
The notice also underscores the importance of using seat belts, closing obstructions on the road, closing doors while driving, refraining from driving on walkways, and avoiding overloading of passengers in vehicles.
