The Nigerian Senate is gearing up to scrutinize Ola Olukoyede for the position of chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This move comes in response to President Bola Tinubu’s recent letter to the Senate, in which he requested the swift confirmation of Olukoyede.

However, this nomination has faced opposition and objections from various quarters in Nigeria.

At the time of this report, the Senate is actively engaged in the screening process of Halima Shehu, who has been appointed as the national coordinator and chief executive officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

Olukoyede is presently in the upper chamber, awaiting his screening for the crucial EFCC chairman role.
