The board of Premium Pension Limited has recently made several significant changes at the corporate level. Notably, Gen.

Bitrus Kwaji (Rtd) OON has assumed the role of Chairman, effective as of August 19, 2023, following the retirement of the previous Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Alhassan Babayo, who had held the position since 2020.

Enhancing board leadership

Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, DCG Garba Bala Makarfi (Rtd), and Dr. Mansur Aleiro have joined the company’s board as Non-Executive Directors in September 2023.

Gen. Kwaji (rtd), a chartered accountant, has a background as a career soldier trained by the Nigerian Army. He is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Strayer University Washington DC, USA, among others.

Before his retirement from the Nigerian Army in 2014, Gen. Kwaji served in various roles, including Deputy Defence Attaché Finance in Washington DC and Chairman of the Military Pensions Board.

Dr. Nenadi Esther Usman, a former Minister of Finance, holds a Doctorate Degree in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a master’s degree in Strategy and Security Management, with expertise in Administration and taxation.

Mr. Garba Bala Makarfi, known for his extensive leadership experience, holds a Diploma in Library Science and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Library and Information Science, both earned from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His career spans various positions within the Nigerian Customs Service.

Dr. Muhammadu Mansur Aliero, an accomplished academician and entrepreneur, completed his Ph.D. and MSc degrees at the University of Putra Malaysia.

He has actively participated in international conferences and possesses a strong educational foundation.
