Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has unveiled plans for a comprehensive audit of all local council employees.
This initiative aims to enhance efficiency and eradicate fraudulent activities within the local government financial system.
Payroll concerns
The governor disclosed this manpower audit strategy during a meeting with the Chairmen, Heads of Personnel, and Treasurers representing the 34 local government areas in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Radda expressed concern about various complaints concerning the payrolls of local governments.
He emphasized the need to cleanse and streamline the local government system in the state.
Governor Radda conveyed his determination to address issues where certain individuals illicitly receive more than their designated salaries. He underlined the importance of halting such unethical practices.
Governor Radda stressed that the manpower audit would require all local council workers to be physically present.
This approach aims to accurately identify genuine staff members across the 34 local government areas in Katsina State.
