The funeral rites for Yinka Odumakin, Afenifere spokesman and human rights activist, began in Lagos yesterday.

Odumakin died of COVID-19 complications at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on April 2.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos; Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives; Ituah Ighodalo, senior pastor of Trinity House, were among those at the lying-in-state event which took place at Police College, Ikeja on Thursday.

Also present were Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra; Ibikunle Amosun, former Ogun governor; Ayo Adebanjo, elder statesman; Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN); Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, among others.
