Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has expressed his gratitude to the Court of Appeal for affirming his victory in the 2023 polls.
In a statement, he commended the judiciary for demonstrating fairness and justice, viewing the judgment as a testament to Nigeria’s unbiased legal system.
Governor Aliyu called on the opposition in Sokoto State to join hands for the betterment of the state and reassured the public of his administration’s commitment to delivering democratic dividends.
He emphasized the determination to secure the state through sustained military operations against criminals and sought the continued support of the people.
The governor thanked the citizens for their prayers and urged them to contribute to the state’s progress through prayers, suggestions, and constructive criticisms.
The appeal was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Sai’du Umar, after losing at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
