Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has submitted a new request to Magistrate Judge Gilbert.
In this latest filing, he outlines his support for the District Court of Illinois’ ruling and urges Chicago State University (CSU) to disclose President Tinubu’s records by October 2, 2023.
Atiku’s request seeks to compel the release of these records by October 3, 2023, allowing him to utilize these documents in the Nigerian Supreme Court on October 5.

In a comprehensive 17-page response, Atiku’s legal team presented arguments to convince Judge Nancy Maldonado to dismiss President Tinubu’s objections and order CSU to provide the requested documents.
Atiku is calling for the complete dismissal of Tinubu’s objections. If the objections are overruled, he requests that the court uphold Magistrate Jeffery T. Gilbert’s order and direct CSU to produce the necessary documents by October 2, 2023.
The court should schedule the deposition no later than October 3, 2023, to allow for the finalization of transcripts.
The court should mandate that the obtained discovery materials be sent to Nigeria by October 4, 2023, accounting for the time zone difference.
The evidence should be filed with the Supreme Court no later than October 5, 2023.
