Electricity distribution companies are set to recommence the distribution of prepaid meters through the Meter Assets Provider (MAP) program.
Morenikeji Amosun, Head of the Metering Team for Ikeja Electric, announced this during a virtual stakeholders’ forum.
He revealed that a new batch of meters had been imported for the program, and deployment would soon begin.
Amosun also mentioned that they would prioritize clearing the backlog of old orders made two to three months ago before processing new orders.
Customers who paid the old prices, predating the recent price adjustments by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, will receive meters without additional charges, while new orders will adhere to the updated pricing structure.
