Sen. Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, has expressed his approval of the verdict from the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, which upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory, affirming that it reflects the choice of the Nigerian people.
The five-member tribunal, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, confirmed President Tinubu’s win in the February 25 presidential election.
Jibrin, in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, called upon all to embrace the tribunal’s decision.
Jibrin calls for national unity to overcome challenges
He emphasized that Nigerians, regardless of their political affiliations, should unite with the current administration to tackle the country’s challenges.
“The verdict from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal regarding the presidential poll has reaffirmed the decision of the voters who turned out on February 25, 2023, to cast their votes in favor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president of our beloved country. Now, it is time for all to collaborate with the President to positively transform the country’s fortunes for the benefit of all,” he stated.
Jibrin also reiterated the parliament’s dedication to drafting legislation that supports the executive branch’s initiatives in alignment with President Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’
He assured that they would actively pursue this legislative support to address the nation’s challenges for the greater good of all.
