Iwuanyanwu underscored the urgent need to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in light of the deteriorating security situation in the region.

He pointed out that individuals were exploiting Kanu’s name and imprisonment for personal gain and to propagate criminal activities in the area.

Iwuanyanwu stressed that the release of Nnamdi Kanu would help restore peace and stability in the Igbo heartland and curb such misuse of his name.

Concurrently, Nigerian troops from Operation UDO KA II conducted clearance operations on terrorist camps in Imo and Anambra, resulting in the arrest of a suspected terrorist and the recovery of materials used for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), motorcycles, stored food, and various logistical items in the camps situated in the Lilu community and Orsumoghu Forest in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
